Reports To Global R&D Director Job Purpose To establish and lead our R&D new technology platform through research and new business development for the application of tried and tested raw materials in innovative products and or technology for the fragrance sector. This is a global position, candidate can be based anywhere with CPL entity. Tasks and Responsibilities Research & Development

  • Identify raw materials / naturals for testing its performance and stability in products being manufactured by CPL globally
  • Present and communicate its benefits and propose opportunities to introduce it to the market
  • Monitor the success rate of R&D new technology and continue to identify opportunities for growth and development
  • Translate key trends in Personal, Household and Air Care products into key development goals for CPL platforms

Sales

  • Identify client’s needs and market trends, perform market analysis for new product opportunities, and present ideas or strategies to Divisional Sales Teams (and / or customers)
  • Work toward achieving the sales targets set for R&D new technology platform

Innovation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and build relations with Universities, academic institutes, raw material suppliers to enable the required testing of products
  • Be the essential interface between R&D, suppliers, and, / or, academic institutes for testing and developing the benefits of fragrance additives to a product or technology

Project Management

  • Define, deploy, and manage projects end-to-end with the aim of delivering to the opportunities identified through the R&D new technology platform
  • Ensure project objectives are met within the required timeframe and customer needs

Qualification Skills and Attributes Required

  • A bachelor's degree in the Science field with circa 5 years’ experience in research and development ideally in the fragrance industry, or
  • Post-graduate in Science with at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in research and development ideally in the fragrance industry

Skills and Knowledge

  • Must have some understanding of surfactant chemistry or some experience in formulating household or personal care products
  • Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial individual with a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills, able to obtain buy-ins from all parties.
  • May have in interest in Aromatherapy
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Highly analytical ability
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of industry regulations
  • Highly developed written and spoken communication
  • Computer literate and skilled in using Office 365 with excellent ability using spreadsheets and calculations software
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
