Your administrative support will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a science engagement CIC. By handling tasks such as scheduling, email correspondence, data entry, document organisation, and stakeholder communication, administrative support enables the core team to focus on delivering impactful science programmes and outreach initiatives. This behind-the-scenes coordination directly contributes to the organisation’s ability to build partnerships, engage the public, manage volunteers, and deliver projects on time. Ultimately, strong administrative support enhances capacity, professionalism, and the overall effectiveness of the CIC’s mission to make science accessible and inclusive. What are we looking for? Key Skills Organisation & Time Management Able to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines efficiently. Communication Strong written and verbal communication to liaise with team members, partners, and participants. IT Proficiency Comfortable using email, spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), file-sharing tools (Google Drive, Dropbox), and video conferencing platforms like Zoom. Attention to Detail Accuracy in maintaining records, managing calendars, and preparing documents. Problem-Solving Able to work through challenges independently and contribute to improving processes. Project Coordination Supporting logistics and administration for events, programmes, or collaborative projects. Relevant Experience Experience in administration, office coordination, or project support roles (this can include paid, voluntary, or internship-based experience). Familiarity with remote work tools such as Trello, Slack, Notion, or Google Workspace. Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information. (Desirable) Experience working with charities, CICs, or community organisations, particularly in education, youth engagement, or science-related sectors. BioSci Toolkit is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our team members, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the organisation. You will be responsible for a range of tasks such as managing the teams' calendars, coordinating travel arrangements when necessary, and providing excellent customer service through our CIC inbox. There is flexibility for the volunteer to suggest others ways they can support the organisation.
