IT Manager – UK Remote with Occasional Office VisitsLocation: Primarily home-based (UK), with periodic travel to a South West England office
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to take ownership of IT operations, infrastructure and service delivery within a fast-growing, security-driven company. This senior role will allow you to influence long-term technology direction, ensuring systems remain secure, efficient and capable of supporting ongoing business expansion.
About the Role
You will oversee the effectiveness and continual development of the IT function, leading a skilled team and working closely with senior leaders to ensure technology supports organisational needs. You’ll also collaborate with the Information Security team to maintain rigorous security and compliance standards. As the organisation’s central point of contact for IT, you will champion innovation, manage key initiatives, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and wider business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IT strategy, policy and standards
- Lead and support the IT team to deliver high-quality service
- Oversee daily IT operations and support across the business
- Manage and optimise cloud and on-prem infrastructure for performance and security
- Support security and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001)
- Plan and deliver IT projects on time and within budget
- Manage budgets, suppliers and key IT contracts
- Maintain and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Collaborate with other departments to align IT with business needs
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in IT operations
- Maintain clear IT documentation and report to senior leadership
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in IT leadership with strong knowledge of infrastructure, cybersecurity and service delivery
- Skilled in managing budgets, suppliers and cross-team projects
- Able to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing IT team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strategic mindset with a willingness to be hands-on when needed
- Eligible and willing to undergo UK security clearance (SC)
- Strong customer-facing skills
- Highly organised and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
