The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced that counter services at all DNR service centers, the statewide call center, and email support will be unavailable on Wednesday and Thursday, August 26-27, 2026. This temporary closure is due to staff training focused on continued customer service excellence.
During this time, DNR Customer & Outreach Services staff will undergo important program-specific training. The dates were strategically chosen to coincide with the lowest license sales and call volumes of the year, minimizing disruption.
What's Still Available?
- The DNR Tipline, Emergency Spills line, and Wisconsin Emergency Management hotline will remain operational.
- Many services can be accessed online via the DNR website.
- Boat and vehicle registration can be completed through online and mail-in options.
- Hunting and fishing licenses can be purchased online via Go Wild.
- Numerous license agents across Wisconsin offer boat and recreational vehicle renewal, ATV/UTV trail passes, and fishing/hunting licenses.
All services will resume normal operations on Friday, August 28.
