Maggie’s Coffee House, located in the heart of downtown Luverne, is expanding to offer more services to their customers.

Coffee house owner, Maegan Marshall said the operation has acquired a building located at the corner of Forest Avenue and Fifth Street to accommodate an easier way for customers to pick up their orders.

“We will have an app that will allow people to start ordering online with a rewards program,” Marshall said. “People can order for pick up but will use that building on the corner with side parking to drive up. Our baristas will bring out the orders.”

Marshall said inspiration behind the expansion is to leave front parking on Forest Avenue for people who want to come inside the store.

“For the moms who are not ready to get out of their car in the morning we’re just trying to streamline the process,” Marshall said. “When they redid the roads, they took three of our parking spots away. We want to just continue to grow downtown area.”

The building will only be open for breakfast and early morning coffee at first, she explained.

“It’ll be our everyday stuff and our specialty flavors,” Marshall said. “I do think the loyalty program will be really big for everybody.”

Marshall expects addition to be up and going by the end of January.

In other Coffee House news, Marshall announced that Luverne High School graduate, Jay Osborne, has been promoted to manage the day-to-day operations of Maggie’s while Marshall focuses on renovations.

Osborne said he’s grateful for the opportunity.

“I’m an outgoing person, I love talking to people,” Osborne said. “I’m all about teamwork and am really great with customer service. I’m blessed for the opportunity; I just love to make coffee.”

“Jay has earned it; he’s a hard worker,” Marshall said. “He’s been with me a year. It was definitely time to promote him up. I know without a doubt; he will run it just as well as I can.”
