Database Administrator (Remote - US)

As a Database Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining the performance, reliability, and security of cloud-based database services. You will work closely with engineering, security, and support teams to ensure efficient data management and seamless operation of services. This role involves optimizing query performance, implementing high-availability solutions, and automating tasks to streamline operations. You will be responsible for monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of database architecture. • Administer and manage cloud-based databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server, on AWS and Azure platforms
• Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Ensure robust backup, recovery, and high-availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies
• Develop automation scripts and workflows using Python, Shell, or PowerShell to streamline operational tasks
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain database systems to ensure reliability and efficiency
• Collaborate with product engineering, security, and support teams to meet operational and compliance requirements
• Support security and compliance initiatives related to database systems

Requirements

• US citizenship and located within the United States
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server DBA
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and SQL Server administration on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Proficiency in performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization techniques
• Experience with backup and recovery processes, HA/DR setups, and database security practices
• Scripting experience in Python, Shell, or PowerShell for automation
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills

Preferred:

• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools for cloud databases
• Knowledge of cloud-native database architectures and best practices
