About Compana
Setting up a compliance program can be challenging and expensive, especially for small teams. Compana is building a compliance platform that helps small businesses and firms build a personalised AML/CTF program and manage their obligations throughout the full client lifecycle.
We’re a team of ambitious problem-solvers building a platform that makes compliance simple, practical, and accessible. We work backwards from our users' needs and build around how they actually work, helping small teams manage compliance with confidence.
The Role
We’re looking for a Product & Technology Manager to lead the evolution of Compana’s platform as we move beyond MVP. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for shaping product direction, guiding delivery, and ensuring we continue to build a platform that solves real customer problems.
This role suits someone who can operate across strategy and execution, and is comfortable defining what we build, while working closely with engineers to bring it to life. You’ll take a customer-led approach, turning insights into clear priorities and making thoughtful trade-offs to move quickly while maintaining quality. With a strong product mindset and solid technical grounding, you’ll play a pivotal role in how the platform grows and matures over time.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, translating customer needs and market insights into clear, actionable priorities.
- Lead and mentor a small cross-functional team, partnering closely with engineering to design, build, and deliver scalable, high-quality products.
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery and prioritisation through to launch and continuous iteration.
- Act as the bridge between business and technology, aligning stakeholders and clearly communicating priorities, trade-offs, and progress
- Drive data-informed decision making, using analytics, user feedback, and experimentation to optimise product direction and outcomes.
- Oversee technical product components (e.g. APIs, platforms, integrations) while continuously improving delivery processes, performance, and product quality.
About you:
You may have all or some of the following skills / experience:
- Previous experience in the Compliance or Digital Identity space.
- Proven experience in a Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, or Product & Technology leadership role, within a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong ability to balance customer needs, commercial objectives, and technical constraints when making product decisions.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams, with a solid understanding of software development, architecture, and APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute product strategy and roadmaps from early-stage through to scale.
- Experience leading or mentoring small teams, with the ability to build alignment and drive accountability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform prioritisation and decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Hands-on experience managing product backlogs, writing requirements, and working in agile development environments.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset suited to an early-stage startup.
- A strong customer-first mindset, with a track record of building products driven by user needs and feedback.
Our hiring process:
- Application: Submit an updated CV (required). You may also include a cover letter (optional) — this is an opportunity to provide additional context on your experience, working style, and interest in the role.
- Initial screening: Your application will be reviewed by the hiring manager for this role. They will assess your skills and experience to determine whether you meet the key selection criteria. The job advertisement will give you a clear understanding of the requirements for the role.
- Screening call: If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to a screening call to briefly discuss your background and the role in more detail. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions.
- Interview process: The interview process consists of two stages. The first interview will be with a Product/Engineering advisor, and it will focus on product and technical fit. The second interview will be with the CEO, and it will focus on your motivation, ways of working, and overall fit with the team.
We welcome requests for adjustments at any stage of the hiring process and aim to provide an accessible and inclusive experience for all applicants.
