Water Resources is thrilled to introduce WaterSmart, a free and user-friendly online service designed to help customers take control of their water consumption and utility bills. This innovative tool is part of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure project, offering a seamless way to monitor and manage your water usage.
What is WaterSmart?
WaterSmart is a user-friendly resource that enables customers to monitor water usage, manage and pay their bills, and receive notifications when usage surges, which can indicate issues like leaks.
Is there a cost to use WaterSmart?
No! The program is a free service offered by Water Resources as part of their commitment to customer support and sustainability.
When will it be available?
The program is set to go live online on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
Where do I register?
Visit ashevillenc.watersmart.com to register. Important note: If you already have an online account with Water Resources, you must use the email address already on file.
Can I manage multiple accounts?
Yes, customers managing multiple properties or meters can link their accounts by registering with the same email and password. Alternatively, log into WaterSmart, click on your address in the top right, select "Add Account," and enter the account and customer numbers to link.
Can I add someone else to my WaterSmart account?
The primary account holder can add additional users. Navigate to "Settings," then "Account Settings," scroll to "Additional Users," select the user's role, and enter their name and email.
Is my water usage data in real-time?
The data is in near-real-time, transmitted from the meter four times daily and typically processed within a few hours to display on your account.
