United Airlines has announced a revision to the start date of its new service between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport (MQT). The inaugural flight, originally scheduled for an earlier date, has been pushed back to October 25 due to newly introduced Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) capacity restrictions at O’Hare.
According to a press release from Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport, the delay aligns with the expected expiration of the current FAA order. Customers who already booked tickets for the affected flights will have the option to rebook on alternative flights or receive a full refund.
“While this delay is regrettable, we recognize the importance of adhering to federal operational requirements,” said David Erhart, Airport Manager at Marquette Sawyer Regional. “We appreciate United Airlines’ continued partnership and commitment to establishing this service for the Marquette community, and we look forward to its launch later this year.”
Passengers with questions are encouraged to visit United.com or contact United Airlines customer service for assistance.
This service is highly anticipated as it will provide a direct connection between Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Chicago, boosting travel and economic opportunities for the region.
