LADWP's Critical Response to Windstorm and Wildfire: Power Restoration Updates You Need to Know

As of this evening, LADWP has received approval to restore power service to more customers in the Brentwood, Encino, and Bel-Air areas. Our crews are committed to working through the night to continue making these repairs and restoring service to customers.

These power lines were previously under fire hold to protect public safety. Fire holds on power lines are necessary to ensure conditions are safe before re-energization. Our crews can only restore power to these lines once authorized by Unified Command. Additional power lines located close to fire-burned areas may take longer to clear for restoration.
If neighborhoods adjacent to yours have had power restored and yours has not, your home could be served by a different power line still under a fire hold. Power lines in these neighborhoods often run north/south and through the hills, so it is possible that areas near you with lifted fire holds have power while others remain without.
Customers with questions about the status of their service can call 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397) to speak with a customer service representative.
LADWP will maintain close coordination with Unified Command and will continue restoration efforts as clearance is received. Updates will be provided to the community as they become available.

Restoring Water Pressure to Pacific Palisades
Our crews have completed over 5,000 repairs in the Palisades area to restore water pressure and have fully refilled the three one-million-gallon tanks serving the higher elevations.
Correcting Misinformation About LADWPâs Water System
Any assertion that fire hydrants in the Pacific Palisades were broken before the fire is misleading. LADWP works closely with LAFD to maintain hydrants, and all reported hydrants were operational before the fire. Water pressure loss was due to extreme demand for firefighting efforts, not a lack of supply.
LADWP remains committed to enhancing our water resilience in response to climate change and will investigate how to improve our systems for future emergencies.
