WestWood Kunsttofftechnik GmbH, a family-owned leader in liquid waterproofing systems, has taken a giant leap in digital transformation to enhance compliance and customer service. Operating across 16 countries, the company faced challenges with siloed data and evolving compliance requirements. Their solution? A partnership with SAP and Innovabee to implement SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP S/4HANA for product compliance.

Automating Product Safety for Innovation and Growth

With manual processes straining their small product safety team, WestWood sought automation to keep pace with new markets and regulations. "We needed a flexible solution to evolve with compliance standards," said Martin Wegner, Product Safety Manager. This shift not only streamlined operations but also supported innovation, like the growing demand for green roofs.

Harnessing Automation for Superior Customer Service

The implementation automated the delivery of safety data sheets, ensuring customers always have the latest information. Previously a manual task, now over 24,000 emails are sent automatically each year, saving time and ensuring compliance. "It’s impossible to forget things now," Wegner noted, highlighting the reliability of automated updates.

Streamlining Workflows and Supporting Sustainability

Beyond customer service, WestWood is reducing paper use and enhancing sustainability reporting. Plans to consolidate systems for dangerous goods management and automate label printing are underway, further optimizing operations. This digital transformation not only supports compliance but also aligns with global sustainability goals.

WestWood’s journey with SAP showcases how automation and cloud solutions can transform compliance and customer service, setting a benchmark for the industry.
