A Heartfelt Tribute to Steven Sanders

Synovus Bank recently honored the memory of their late employee, Steven Sanders, by dedicating the main lobby of their Statesboro branch in his name. The ceremony was a touching event attended by family, friends, colleagues, and community members, including his wife Kristie and son Dalton. This gathering celebrated Sanders's significant contributions to the bank and the community, emphasizing his dedication to customer service and genuine care for others.

The Dedication Ceremony

The event kicked off with Chad Wiggins, Synovus Statesboro Market President, expressing the importance of the day. "Today is a big day. We're naming this lobby for Steven Sanders, and we're calling it the Sanders Lobby. It's like joining our Hall of Fame," he noted. Wiggins also referenced past honors at the bank, mentioning that Sanders was joining a distinguished list of individuals who made lasting impacts.

Reflecting on Sanders's character, Wiggins shared, "When I think about Steven and the life he led, I think about Galatians 5:22 – the fruit of the spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Every one of those words, I can relate to Steven in some way."

Brad Sheffield, Synovus Director, praised Sanders's exceptional performance, stating, "Statesboro is a very high-performing place, and Steven was a major part of that. He did it with excellence." He recalled how Sanders consistently prioritized customer needs, often at the expense of his own time.

Pastor Tony Pagliarullo, who had a personal relationship with Sanders, emphasized the legacy he left behind, encouraging everyone to strive for excellence in their lives.

Commemorating the Legacy

The ceremony culminated with the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the Sanders Lobby. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and shared memories of the positive impact Sanders had on those around him. Sheffield concluded with a challenge to carry forward the spirit of excellence that Sanders embodied.
