Genesys has acquired AI workflow automation company Pinkfish to supercharge its Genesys Cloud platform with enterprise orchestration capabilities that enable autonomous customer service across business systems. Financial terms were not disclosed.

This acquisition expands Genesys’ AI portfolio by adding agentic orchestration technology that connects customer interactions with enterprise applications. AI-powered virtual agents can now securely access data and execute workflows across multiple business systems—CRM, ERP, IT, HR, billing, order management, and more. The goal: accelerate adoption of autonomous customer experiences while reducing operational complexity.

“Agentic AI is moving customer experience from assisted engagement to governed execution,” said Glenn Nethercutt, EVP and CTO at Genesys. “With Pinkfish, we’re advancing agentic orchestration by connecting customer intent to enterprise data, business workflows and governed actions through Genesys Cloud AI.”

Pinkfish specializes in workflow orchestration with over 500 integrations supporting 25,000+ Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools. This technology will enhance Genesys Cloud’s Agentic Virtual Agent and Copilot offerings, enabling them to retrieve information and complete tasks across enterprise systems without human intervention.

Real-world example: An AI virtual agent could resolve a delayed shipment inquiry by verifying order info, checking shipping status, applying a service credit, upgrading delivery, and notifying the customer—all in one interaction, no department routing needed.

“Every great customer experience combines meaningful conversations with meaningful action that spans CRM, ERP, billing and the rest of the enterprise,” said Charanya Kannan, CEO and co-founder of Pinkfish.

Beyond customer service, Genesys plans to integrate Pinkfish with Genesys Cloud Case Management for complex processes like customer onboarding, insurance claims, loan servicing, warranty management, and return authorizations.

Industry analysts see enterprise workflow orchestration as crucial for next-gen AI adoption. “The autonomous enterprise depends on coordinating actions across complex environments while maintaining governance,” said Rebecca Wettemann, CEO of Valoir.

Pinkfish capabilities will be available via the Genesys AppFoundry Marketplace by end of Q2 fiscal 2027, with native integration into Genesys Cloud expected before fiscal year-end.
