Water Service Interruptions and Boil Advisories: What You Need to Know
Columbia Water has announced that some customers may experience service interruptions due to repairs along Trenholm Road. This has led to a boil advisory being issued for specific areas, including Rockbridge Road to Lakecrest Drive, Lakecrest Drive, and portions of Arcadia Road and Rockbridge Road.
Once water service resumes, customers in these areas are advised to boil water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking. Avoid using ice made from unboiled water. These precautions also apply if you've experienced a loss of water, low water pressure, or discolored water. The advisory remains in effect until Columbia Water issues a repeal notification.
After the advisory is lifted, if water appears discolored, run taps for two to three minutes. If discoloration persists after flushing toilets, contact Columbia Water's customer service line at (803) 545-3300 for assistance.
