A UK-based software firm selling into mid-market segments is seeking an Account Executive to support its continued growth across the accounting sector.

With strong demand and continued expansion across larger accounting practices, the business is investing in its commercial team to drive growth within the mid-market segment.

Role Overview

The Account Executive will be responsible for driving new business growth across mid-market accounting firms (10+ employees) in the UK.

This role is strategic and consultative in nature, focused on managing larger deal sizes, longer sales cycles and engaging multiple stakeholders within each opportunity. While inbound opportunities are available, there is a strong expectation to proactively generate and develop outbound pipeline within the target market.

The successful candidate will take ownership of complex sales processes, positioning the platform as a strategic solution that improves efficiency, compliance and scalability across growing accounting firms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business revenue by acquiring mid-market accounting firm customers (10+ employees)
  • Build and manage a pipeline of higher-value, complex opportunities across inbound and outbound channels
  • Lead detailed discovery processes to understand firm structure, workflows and operational challenges
  • Engage with partners, directors and senior stakeholders across target organisations
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to firm-wide requirements
  • Position the platform as a strategic solution to improve efficiency, compliance and scalability
  • Manage longer, multi-stage sales cycles from initial engagement through to negotiation and close
  • Build and develop relationships across multiple decision-makers within each account
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting within the CRM
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales development teams to drive qualified mid-market pipeline
  • Work closely with Customer Success to ensure effective onboarding and long-term account value

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience selling software into mid market accounting firms.
  • Strong experience managing longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Ability to run consultative, value-led sales processes with senior stakeholders
  • Experience generating outbound pipeline within defined verticals or target accounts
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to build business cases for larger deals
  • Highly organised with strong pipeline management and forecasting discipline
