Company: The Revel Puck Circus
Location: Remote (Online Working), desk space in Shoreditch available.
Contract Type: Freelance
Hours: 20 hours per week (4 hours per day, Wednesday – Sunday)
Compensation: £15.00 per hour
About The Revel Puck Circus
The Revel Puck Circus is an award-winning, contemporary circus company born in East
London. We create joyful, high-energy, community-led circus that tours the UK inside our iconic
Big Top tent. We lean into a proud, DIY punk attitude stripping away traditional circus tropes and
sequins to focus on raw talent, heartfelt physical storytelling, and genuine human connection.
With our latest production, A Glimmer Daze Gambit, touring the country, our Big Top lands in the
heart of local communities far and wide. We are looking for an organised, proactive freelancer to
join our team behind the scenes to help manage our digital front-of-house and spark early
excitement in our upcoming tour stops.
The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Box Office & Outreach Officer to join our team on a
freelance basis. This is a dual-focus remote role designed to keep our audience
communications seamless during peak show periods, while simultaneously laying the
groundwork and building local traction for our future locations.
Working 4 hours a day from Wednesday to Sunday, you will be our frontline digital voice for
incoming audience queries and our trailblazer for community outreach in upcoming towns and
cities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Box Office & Customer Service Management
● Inbox Management: Monitor and manage the main box office email account, ensuring
timely, helpful responses during our busiest performance windows (Wednesday –
Sunday).
● Query Resolution: Handle ticket exchanges, booking troubleshooting, access inquiries,
and general audience questions via email.
● Brand Voice: Maintain a warm, welcoming, and cheeky tone that aligns with the
inclusive ethos of the Revel Pucks.
● System Tracking: Monitor ticketing trends, flagging recurring issues or feedback to the
core management team.
2. Future Location Outreach & Traction
● Targeted Research: Map out upcoming tour locations to identify local community
groups, youth clubs, schools, arts organisations, independent businesses, and local
media.
● Outbound Engagement: Initiate contact via email and social media to pitch group
bookings, community partnerships, and local ticket distributions, getting momentum
started weeks before the Big Top rolls into town.
● Relationship Building: Act as the initial point of contact for local stakeholders, fostering
early enthusiasm and securing promotional support.
About You
We are looking for someone who loves the arts, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and
doesn’t mind wearing two different hats in a single shift.
Please Note: Because this role is fully remote, we need someone who is highly
disciplined, reliable, and capable of working independently without constant
supervision.
Essential Skills & Experience:
● Previous experience in a customer-facing, administrative, or box office role (experience
with event ticketing platforms like Tixr is a major plus).
● Excellent written communication skills with the ability to channel our raw, relatable, and
mischievous company voice.
● Strong online research skills and a proactive, fearless attitude toward outbound outreach
and cold emailing.
● Comfortable working a fixed Wednesday through Sunday schedule to align with our
peak show days.
● Experience with G-suite, Mailchimp, Canva, CRM systems.
● Must have a reliable laptop/computer, a smartphone, and a stable, high-speed internet connection.
