Head of Product | Seed-Stage AI Company | £100k-£125k + equity | UK Remote

This is a role for a product leader who has done the PMF journey once before and wants to do it again at the right company.

The Company

A seed-stage AI company in the transport intelligence space. Profitable, bootstrapped to £1M ARR, just closed a multi-million seed round from a UK-led syndicate of tier-one investors.

Founded by Imperial and Cambridge-trained engineers (Forbes 30u30, MIT 35u35). Customers include national infrastructure operators, regional government, and the major engineering consultancies in their space.

The Product

A natural-language AI co-pilot that lets non-technical users ask complex questions of operational data. Semantic modelling, agentic workflows, evaluation-driven development, explainability as a first-class surface.

The Head of Product role:

The company has product, recurring revenue, and strong customer logos. What it doesn't yet have is repeatable product-market fit. You're being hired to find it.

You'll own the layer that turns customer insight into shipping decisions, building the rhythm, clarity, and evidence base that lets engineering, commercial, and customer success move in the same direction with confidence.

You'll run discovery, design experiments, own the roadmap, and partner closely with commercial and customer success to make product directly accountable for pipeline and retention.

This is a hands-on senior IC role. You'll write specs, run discovery yourself, and sit close enough to engineering that product and tech move as one function.

The role has a clear trajectory to grow into the full CPO seat over 18-24 months as the company moves to Series A and scales the function beneath you.

You thrive here if:

  • You've led product through at least one full PMF journey at a B2B startup, ideally Seed to Series B. You can talk specifically about what worked, what didn't, and what you learned.
  • You've got a track record of bringing engineering, commercial, and leadership teams into alignment around product direction
  • You've shipped AI products into production with real evaluation discipline, not AI as buzzword. You have a point of view on hallucination tolerance, cost-latency trade-offs, and how to communicate model uncertainty in the product itself.
  • You're genuinely hands-on. You run discovery and write specs yourself, and you're energised by ambiguity rather than anxious about it.
  • Highly desirable: Experience in transport, mobility, geospatial, infrastructure, or other complex public-sector-adjacent verticals

Logistics

£100,000-£125,000 base plus meaningful equity.

Remote-first with 1-2 days a month at offices in London, Cambridge, or Bristol.
