About The Role Shopify’s Global Accounts team partners with the largest, highest-volume, most complex merchants, where buying cycles are rigorous and stakeholder groups are broad. As a Global Account Manager, you will own growth within a named portfolio by building executive relationships, running disciplined account plans, and closing complex, multi-product commercial deals that expand Shopify’s impact across regions, brands, and business units. Key Responsibilities:
- Own relationships across global enterprise accounts and multi-thread stakeholders from operators through executive leadership (for example CIO, CTO, CDO, CMO, CFO).
- Build and execute strategic account plans that drive revenue growth, including upsell and cross-sell motions.
- Run discovery to understand each merchant’s objectives and constraints, then recommend a clear path forward with Shopify.
- Orchestrate internal teams such as Solutions Engineering, Product, Professional Services, Partnerships, Legal, and Finance, plus external partners such as SIs, GSIs, and ISVs, to build credible transformation plans.
- Drive opportunity progression by aligning decision criteria, creating momentum, and executing clean next steps.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations and partner with Legal and Finance to manage risk and close win-win agreements.
- Identify opportunities to expand Shopify’s footprint across new geographies, brands, channels, and solutions, and drive deal strategy from discovery through close.
- Coordinate across teams (Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, Support, Professional Services, Partnerships) to unblock value.
- Operate globally by navigating regional complexity, aligning distributed stakeholders, and coordinating across time zones and teams.
Qualifications
- Experience owning the full sales cycle in a high-complexity environment (technology/software highly preferred).
- Experience with large, complex enterprise retailers and brands.
- Experience working with SIs, GSIs, and ISVs in partner-led enterprise motions.
- Experience driving global account expansion across multiple regions, brands, or lines of business.
- Track record managing large, complex and/or multinational accounts and hitting or exceeding targets.
- Strong executive presence and comfort leading strategic conversations with senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close complex, multi-product commercial agreements.
- Strong business acumen, disciplined operating cadence, and comfort navigating ambiguity.
- Ability to develop deep Shopify product fluency and communicate value clearly.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Proficiency in English required; native or bilingual proficiency in another European language is highly desirable.
