The Role;

We're now looking for a Product Manager (Product & Delivery) to bring structure, prioritisation and execution discipline to our growing business.

This role combines traditional product management responsibilities with hands-on delivery ownership. You will own our roadmap, backlog, discovery processes and prioritisation while ensuring work is delivered effectively across the business.

You will work closely with customers, founders, engineers and commercial teams to understand customer problems, validate opportunities, define solutions and ensure successful delivery. This role offers the opportunity to help establish and mature the product management function during a critical stage of the company's growth.

Responsibilities;

Product strategy & roadmap;

  • Own and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring priorities are clearly communicated and aligned with company objectives.
  • Work closely with founders, customers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities that deliver the greatest business and customer value.
  • Balance strategic initiatives, customer requests, technical debt and operational improvements.
  • Define and communicate product priorities and trade-offs clearly across the business.
  • Develop product requirement documents, user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
  • Define success metrics and measurable outcomes for product initiatives.
  • Establish clear product objectives aligned to company growth, customer outcomes and operational efficiency.

Product discovery & definition;

  • Lead the creation of Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), defining target users, user problems, business value, success metrics, scope, assumptions, risks and validation plans.
  • Conduct customer interviews, workflow observation sessions, usability testing and discovery activities to understand how customers work today.
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of customer Jobs-to-be-Done, desired outcomes, pain points and unmet needs.
  • Map and analyse end-to-end user journeys, workflows and customer experiences to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Validate key product assumptions, workflows and design decisions with customers before development begins.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative research to validate problems before proposing solutions.
  • Create and maintain customer personas, journey maps, service blueprints and story maps.
  • Produce low-fidelity wireframes and workflow prototypes where appropriate to accelerate product validation and alignment.
  • Evaluate feature requests critically, identifying underlying customer problems rather than simply implementing requested solutions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer throughout the product development lifecycle.

Product delivery & execution;

  • Take ownership of delivery across the product function, ensuring agreed priorities are shipped on time and to a high standard.
  • Manage and maintain the product backlog, ensuring work is clearly prioritised and ready for development.
  • Coordinate work across engineering, customer success, sales, founders and external partners.
  • Run planning sessions, backlog refinement, reviews and other delivery processes as required.
  • Identify blockers early and proactively drive them to resolution.
  • Track progress against commitments and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leadership during technical shaping and solution design activities.
  • Ensure epics, user stories and acceptance criteria are sufficiently detailed before development begins.
  • Support release planning, rollout strategies, phased migrations and feature launches.
  • Be willing to step outside traditional product responsibilities where necessary to ensure successful delivery.

Product operations & process improvement;

  • Establish and continuously improve product and delivery processes.
  • Own the bug triage and prioritisation process, ensuring issues are tracked, prioritised and resolved appropriately.
  • Create visibility over roadmap progress, delivery status and upcoming priorities.
  • Improve internal workflows and operational discipline to reduce firefighting and increase predictability.
  • Introduce practical tools, reporting and governance that support a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Build repeatable product management processes that scale as the business grows.
  • Continuously improve how customer feedback, analytics and commercial insights are incorporated into decision-making.

Product launch & optimisation;

  • Coordinate product readiness activities including support documentation, customer communications, onboarding updates and internal enablement.
  • Work closely with Customer Success and Operations teams to ensure successful adoption of new capabilities.
  • Monitor product performance, adoption and customer outcomes following release.
  • Conduct post-release reviews using customer feedback, analytics, support data and commercial results.
  • Maintain and prioritise follow-up opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Market, customer & competitive intelligence;

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the financial advice, wealth management and adviser technology ecosystem.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and monitor industry trends, emerging technologies and market developments.
  • Identify market gaps, customer opportunities and areas where PlannerPal can create competitive advantage.
  • Work closely with Customer Success, Sales and Implementation teams to understand customer feedback, objections, adoption challenges and workflow realities.
  • Translate customer insights into prioritised product opportunities and clear recommendations.
  • Establish frameworks for measuring product success, customer adoption and realised value.

Key Requirements;

Essentials;

  • 5+ years' experience in a Product Manager role within a SaaS or technology business.
  • Demonstrable experience owning a product roadmap and backlog.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering software products and features.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • Proven experience creating Product Requirement Documents and translating customer problems into clearly defined product initiatives.
  • Strong customer discovery skills, including interviewing, workflow analysis, usability testing and requirements validation.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Jobs-to-be-Done, customer outcome-driven product development or similar product methodologies.
  • Experience mapping customer journeys, workflows and service blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of how to validate product hypotheses before significant development investment.
  • Experience defining product success metrics and using data to evaluate outcomes.
  • Experience using customer feedback, behavioural data and business metrics to prioritise product investments.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to assess opportunities based on customer value, business value and delivery effort.
  • Experience conducting competitor analysis and market research to inform product strategy.
  • Ability to create wireframes, workflow diagrams and other low-fidelity product artefacts to communicate product intent.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and make pragmatic trade-off decisions.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with ambiguity.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes.
  • Proactive and willing to take responsibility for whatever is required to move work forward.
  • Evidence of independently developing product management expertise through formal learning, self-study or professional development.

Nice to have’s;

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, wealth tech or regulated industries.
  • Experience with project or delivery management responsibilities alongside product management.
  • Experience working with distributed or outsourced engineering teams.
  • Experience introducing customer discovery and product research processes into a growing startup.
  • Formal product management training, certifications or evidence of substantial self-directed learning.
  • Experience working with analytics and product intelligence tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, FullStory, Hotjar or similar.
  • Experience building AI-powered, workflow automation or productivity products.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered products and technologies.
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Linear, Productboard, Notion, Miro or similar.
  • Exposure to CRM platforms and financial services technology ecosystems.
  • Product design or UX background.
