Home-based, covering the South DACH region (primarily Northern Germany, with travel across the DACH region as required).

Job Summary:

I am seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to support customers across the South DACH region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced scientific instrumentation at customer sites, ensuring exceptional technical support and customer satisfaction.

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel and close collaboration with customers, sales, applications, and technical support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and qualify company instrumentation at customer sites
  • Perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and system upgrades
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and application-related issues
  • Provide on-site technical training and operational support to customers
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation
  • Manage spare parts, tools, and service inventory effectively
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams
  • Support product feedback loops by reporting field issues and customer insights
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations
  • Participate in on-call or emergency support as required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Electronics, or a related technical field
  • Proven experience in a Field Service Engineer or similar customer-facing technical role
  • Experience supporting cytometry, imaging, or analytical instruments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electro-mechanical, optical, and software systems
  • Experience working with complex scientific or laboratory instrumentation (life sciences preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and manage a regional service territory
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
