Fun, rewarding and with the opportunity to develop and grow your career. That’s life with L&C Mortgages, the UK’s leading fee free mortgage and protection broker with over 160 awards to its name.
Join us and you’ll be part of a business that takes your progress seriously and wants you to enjoy being part of the L&C family. Once again, we’re expanding our Team and looking to bring aboard a Quality Controller to join our dynamic and compliant assurance team.
The role
As a Quality Controller, you will play a key role in supporting our wider Advice Function and ultimately our customers, through completing comprehensive quality checks and reviews of Mortgage and Protection cases. You’ll listen to calls and assess individual cases, reviewing the quality and suitability of advice given and providing constructive feedback to the advisers. You’ll also conduct testing and end to end reviews of the Mortgage and Protection processes and customer journey, ensuring Teams perform to the highest standard and customers are always left with the best possible outcomes. You’ll need great knowledge of mortgage and protection advice, as well as regulatory bodies and legal requirements within the industry, allowing you to conduct the best analysis of cases and work with others to ensure our business priorities are always aligned.
About you
At L&C we care about our customers and ensuring their service is always top quality, but ensuring we remain compliant in the regulatory side of things is of the utmost importance. We’re looking for CeMap (or equivalent) qualified people with great mortgage industry knowledge and experience who are: self-motivated, self-sufficient and able to manage their time effectively with a proactive approach to work, as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills. You’ll need to be able to communicate well and work with internal and external people at all levels and present feedback effectively. You’ll ideally have had ample experience within financial services and the sector, with in depth knowledge of mortgage and protection advice, UK regulatory bodies, legal requirements and accredited bodies – FCA Handbook, MCOB, ICOBS, SYSC, COCON & SMCR.
Why join L&C?
We care about our customers, but our employees are what make the magic happen. We’re always ready to listen and do what we can to make L&C even better for those receiving and providing our services. Working with us means being part of an environment of respect and equity. The standard of training is as high as it can be, so that the service you’re able to deliver is at the same level. What you do with it and where you take your role from there is up to you – because there are ample opportunities to flourish and progress.
Joining L&C means having the chance to:
- 24 days starting annual leave, plus your birthday & bank holidays off non inclusive of your holiday allowance
- Have access to our comprehensive Employee benefit and support schemes, from wellbeing to perks and discounts, we want to give our colleagues the best as thanks for their continued dedication
- Come celebrate at our biannual Winter and Summer socials, and plenty of other events throughout the year
- … and much more!
At London & Country Mortgages, we are committed to fostering a recruitment and selection process that is inherently diverse and inclusive. We believe in the strength that comes from a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, and we actively seek to create an environment where individuals from all walks of life feel welcome and valued. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is not just a goal; it is a fundamental part of our organisational culture, driving us to continuously enhance our practices to ensure that every candidate has an equal opportunity to contribute and thrive within our community.
FCA Certification Regime & Conduct Rules
L&C is classified as an “Enhanced Firm” under the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role will officially fall into the “Conduct” element of the regime, meaning you’ll be personally subject to the five FCA Conduct Rules if successful in your application. You may already be aware of these, but don’t worry if not. If successful in securing the role training will be provided.
In addition, as this is a customer-facing advice role, L&C has made the decision to treat all Advisers (Mortgage & Protection) in the same way, so we’ll ensure and verify your integrity, competence and financial soundness in the same way we do with our Mortgage Advisers.
