As a Delivery Manager you will be a part of our technology management team involved in designing team compositions, recruitment, building and supporting software engineering teams through all evolution phases, in various complexity setups, typically consisting of several Agile teams that incrementally build softwarу platform and provide engineering support to our clients, with strong focus on delivering business value.
We expect from a Delivery Manager in Forte to be technically savvy, know and understand Agile SDLC, Product Management, Solution Architecture, QA, DevOps and SRE practices. We expect you to contribute both by leading commercial engagements and participating in internal improvement initiatives, including cross-geo collaboration between delivery units located in South America and Europe. We also expect from a Delivery Manager to participate on-demand in sales activities, help with account management and marketing efforts in Forte, for example by presenting your client’s business cases.
Responsibilities in team management
You’re expected to build, grow and transform teams in Forte, in direct collaboration with the Engineering Management and business Stakeholders at the client side, in a way to make sure the team in Forte has sufficient number of engineers in the agreed locations, with required roles and qualifications, aligned according to the team structure, trained in the agreed ways of working and tools, properly onboarded, provided with everything required for productive work, accounts, permissions, accesses and else. You are also expected to maintain transparency and provide clear visibility over Forte teams’ performance and deliverables towards management both in Forte and at the client side.
- To kick off new client engagements, help compose teams and provide well-organized onboarding for team members and for the client who starts working with Forte
- To be the default contact/escalation point for all requests coming from the client or from Forte management on any matters related to the team when exact responsible person is not clear or unassigned
- To render Line Manager function for all team members, and delegate this function down to managers and team leaders and other corresponding roles, making sure they’re are capable to provide it, identify gaps and provide personal development plans for leads/engineers when necessary
- To support Resource Management and Talent Acquisition functions - keep track of all open vacancies in the team, make sure clear JDs are provided for open roles, make sure optimal technical interviewers are assigned per vacancy, make sure non-standard cases reasonably handled and additional information provided timely
- To support HR BP function - make sure 121/OKR process is setup and running, 121s are happen on regular basis, surveys and performance feedbacks are provided by schedule, dissatisfaction cases and risks detected at the earliest possible stage and timely escalated, onboarding/probation/performance processes are running as scheduled, proven facts provided on actual performance and attitude
- To make sure the team has properly balanced set of required skills to deliver assigned tasks and duties, with reasonable knowledge overlap to mitigate retention risks and is constantly improving - keep healthy balance between sen/mid/jun roles, organize trainings and knowledge sharing activities, engage Interns and Junior developers when possible, facilitate career paths through team/role change
- To make sure the team keeps minimal possible attrition, that includes personal development process and career paths are setup and running, internal team changes and roles promotions are organized across the team when possible
- To make sure the team is provided with everything necessary for the effective work - proper hardware provided and upgrades made when necessary, mobile devices for testing, software licenses etc. timely request budgets when necessary to do an additional procurement
- To make sure the team is participating and following required procedures cascaded from Forte or client organization - such as but not limited to QBRs, presentations, surveys, feedback gathering, Security and Personal Data Protection training, etc.
- To make sure the team is aligned towards Forte organizational goals and strategy, values, is customer centric, proactively contributes towards Forte and client’s business success via excellence in technology outcomes
- To make sure the team changes and news are transparent and proactively communicated and reported on demand - such as but not limited to team structure changes, newcomers, dismissals, open roles, seniority balance etc.

- Know your client's business, their plans and goals, understand their customers’ needs!
- Develop relationships and trust with stakeholders at the client side, identify new opportunities and expand portfolio of services that client delegates to Forte
- Help your client to meet their business needs by rendering services and delivering technical solutions
- Take the lead in setting up teams and driving towards growing their excellence in hard and soft skills with persistent focus on delivering valuable outcomes for the client business
- Maintain and contribute into collaborative culture with focus on Agile values and product-oriented mindset
- Maintain technical excellence and lead the teams to ensure quality first thinking, simple architecture and highest code quality
- Maintain the delivery management framework and ensure development processes are followed according to the agreed ways of working
- Provide guidance to the teams in timely delivery of the product increments and overall delivery of the product and technical roadmaps
- Help teams to hire right profiles and maintain career development, horizontal and vertical moves, attract and retain best talent in the teams
- Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to make efficiency improvements and better user experience
- Communicate across various teams, client business, internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead software delivery in an Agile environment
- Proven experience managing delivery of commercial software that is available on the market, has paying customers, generates revenue for the client
- Proven experience managing delivery of platforms with high technical complexity in an Agile environment
- Technical background in software development and, highly desired, in quality assurance
- Experience with People Management and Talent Development practices
- Experience architecting and/or leading the technical design of software products
- Experience managing several teams working concurrently and, highly desired, across multiple geographies
