We are looking for a detail-oriented, systems-minded Operations Generalist to support customer experience, fulfillment visibility, accounts receivable collections, and financial data hygiene. This is a part-time contractor role ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments and enjoys keeping the backend of a business running smoothly.
Role Overview
The Operations Generalist will work closely with our Operations Manager to ensure our customer support workflows, fulfillment tracking, and financial systems remain accurate and efficient. This role requires strong follow-through, comfort working across systems, and the ability to proactively identify inconsistencies.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Support
• Manage customer support inbox and ticket queue
• Respond to customer inquiries with professionalism and brand-aligned tone
• Escalate complex issues as needed
• Track recurring issues and flag trends to leadership
• Maintain clean documentation of customer interactions
Fulfillment Operations
• Monitor daily order fulfillment and shipment status
• Track delivery progress and proactively identify delays
• Ensure accurate data flow from Shopify to our 3PL system
• Investigate and resolve fulfillment discrepancies
• Coordinate with 3PL partners on exceptions and claims
Collections and AR Support
• Assist with past-due invoice follow-ups and escalation workflows
• Maintain accurate documentation of payment status
• Coordinate with sales and leadership on collections strategy
• Help ensure clear visibility into AR aging
Financial Data Cleanliness
• Support reconciliation between Shopify and QuickBooks Online
• Assist in identifying and correcting transaction discrepancies
• Ensure clean financial categorization and documentation
• Support ongoing improvements in operational reporting accuracy
What We’re Looking For
• 2+ years experience in operations, customer support, finance support, or similar role
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy standards
• Experience with Shopify and QuickBooks Online preferred
• Comfortable working with fulfillment systems and 3PL coordination
• Clear written communication skills
• Highly organized and process-oriented
• Able to work independently and proactively flag issues
Nice to Have
• Experience in CPG or DTC ecommerce
• Familiarity with AR collections processes
• Experience reconciling data
• Experience working in fast-growing startup environments
Time Commitment
• 10–15 hours per week
• Flexible schedule with availability during standard business hours for coordination
Compensation
Hourly contractor rate ranging from $15-$20/hr based on experience.
