About The Role We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and empathetic individual to join one of the UK's leading banking groups as a Remote Customer Service Administrator. This role is integral to the Financial Care team, specifically within the bereavement services, where you will be responsible for supporting the finalization of customer estates after a customer's passing. The position offers a predominantly remote working environment, providing flexibility and work-life balance, with the requirement to attend a banking hub in Glasgow or Leeds once a month or quarter, depending on your location. The contract is initially until the end of March 2026, with potential for extension or permanent placement based on performance. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, offering a standard full-time schedule. The role provides weekly pay at an hourly rate of 12.91 GBP and an attractive holiday entitlement of 39.5 days annually. The successful candidate must be available to start on the 10th of November, 2025, and should possess a background in administration or customer service, especially with experience handling sensitive or empathetic situations. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in administrative roles or customer service environments
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Proven ability to manage workload independently
  • Competence in working on own initiative and problem-solving
  • Eligibility to pass credit, criminal, and Disclosure Scotland checks

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with customers via telephone, email, and letter to provide support and information
  • Delivering a first-class customer service experience with a positive and empathetic approach
  • Scanning identification and verifying documentation within the in-house system
  • Processing legal paperwork, including death certificates and estate documents
  • Closing customer accounts and managing associated payments efficiently
  • Handling inquiries related to Inheritance Tax and estate administration
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support throughout the estate finalization process
  • Responding to general estate and account closure queries in a timely manner
