
Website Support & Implementation Specialist

We’re looking for a technically-minded, Australian-based contractor to support our growing web design and development projects at Amara Collective, for approx. 5–10 hours per week to start, with potential to grow. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to translate client needs into streamlined, functional website solutions and is confident working alongside both designers and developers. You’ll be working closely with our team (and sometimes directly with clients), helping to ease the load on our current technical lead.
This role blends day-to-day website support with hands-on implementation tasks. It’s perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, can work autonomously, and has a good understanding of content management systems, basic troubleshooting, and website best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on or take ownership of tasks like:
- Implementing forms and third-party integrations (e.g. Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Australia Post, Cin7).
- Connecting social media accounts and other external services.
- Populating site content and configuring CMS settings (WordPress, Shopify, etc.).
- Optimising basic website performance (speed, image compression).
- Push websites live, ensuring final technical checks are complete.
- Assist in website migrations between platforms, domains, or hosts.
- Liaise with our developers to ensure smooth communication and implementation.
- Provide light technical support to clients and answer questions about their sites.
- Support hosting, email configuration, and DNS management (e.g. Cloudflare).
- Occasionally collaborate with Ryan (our co-founder and tech lead) on larger builds or custom functionality.
Nice to Have
- Confidence using WordPress, Shopify, and other CMS platforms.
- Familiarity with plugins and tools such as Elementor, Beaver Builder, WP Rocket, and Yoast SEO.
- Comfortable editing basic HTML or CSS when required.
- A calm, solution-oriented mindset — someone who enjoys untangling tech issues and helping clients feel supported.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical language into plain English.
