Woori Bank's New CEO Prioritizes Trust and Innovation in Customer Service

Woori Bank CEO Jung Jin-wan recently emphasized that trust, customer-centric services, and innovation are his top priorities to restore confidence among customers and the public. This announcement came during a ceremony marking the beginning of his two-year term as the bank's 56th CEO.
He highlighted the critical importance of trust for effective internal control, especially following recent criticisms due to incidents of employee misconduct, including embezzlement and poorly granted loans. Jung stated, "The rebuilding of strong trust will come only through internal controls that are genuinely effective, not through the facade of it."
To enhance customer service, the bank plans to streamline business processes, removing unnecessary tasks to foster a customer-oriented mindset among employees. Jung remarked, "Mutual growth with customers is the reason for our existence."
Woori Bank will also support the government's initiatives to aid vulnerable income groups and borrowers, aiming to outline financial support measures that will help revive the real economy. Additionally, a significant change in the employee evaluation system will be implemented; employees will no longer be graded on a curve but will be subject to absolute grading to encourage healthy competition and joint growth.
Jung concluded by expressing his vision for a corporate culture characterized by dynamic and youthful energy.
