Meet the Publix Employee Who Redefines Customer Service in South Florida
Celebrating Exceptional Service
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – One South Florida Publix employee is earning top marks for her outstanding customer service. Customer Service Manager Iliana Ley, who works at the Publix at Market Square in Miami, has been recognized for going above and beyond for her customers.
“I love interacting with customers and having that bond with them,” said Ley. “I have customers who know me by name, and I know them by name. They’re more like guests or neighbors.”
Iliana started her journey with Publix at the age of 17. Initially shy, her experience at Publix has helped her become more outgoing. She now goes out of her way to make customers smile and brighten their day.
“Publix helped me learn how to interact with people,” said Iliana. “Saying, ‘Hi!’ is the foundation to everything our founder, Mr. George, taught us. It’s just this little thing, but you can make someone’s day and see their face light up.”
National Customer Service Day is celebrated on January 17. Publix stands out as the largest employee-owned company in the U.S., with over 250,000 associates and operating 1,351 stores across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.
