Gulfstream Unveils New Customer Support Center in Mesa: A Game Changer for Aviation Services

Gulfstream Aerospace has officially launched its customer support service center at Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona. The grand opening was celebrated with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting attended by state and local dignitaries, community partners, and Gulfstream representatives.

Major Investment and Facilities

Gulfstream has made a significant investment of over $130 million in this expansive 225,000-square-foot maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility. Initially announced in 2021, the center began operations in 2022 to meet customer demand, with additional hangar space expected to be added by fall 2023.

Enhanced Service Capability

The Mesa Service Center is designed to accommodate up to 13 large-cabin Gulfstream aircraft simultaneously, offering a wide range of services, including maintenance, avionics services, inspections, and drop-in support for all Gulfstream models. This new facility complements Gulfstream’s existing Mesa west campus, which can hold 10 large- and mid-cabin aircraft.

Commitment to Quality and Training

Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, emphasized that the new center is part of their strategic vision to enhance their service network. The Mesa team is equipped to provide the same high-quality service that customers expect globally. The operations have already created over 250 new jobs, with an additional 100 expected in the coming year. Gulfstream is also collaborating with local educational institutions to offer apprenticeship and internship programs to develop future talent in the industry.

Sustainability Initiatives

The center aims for U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification, showcasing Gulfstream’s commitment to sustainability. The facility utilizes recycled materials, implements energy-efficient solutions, and features an on-site fuel farm with a 30,000-gallon tank dedicated to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blends.

Expanding Service Network

Gulfstream’s extensive service network includes modernized centers in Van Nuys, California, Appleton, Wisconsin, Fort Worth, Texas, Palm Beach, Florida, Farnborough, England, and the recently completed Savannah Service Center East.
