Discover SWBNO's Game-Changing Online Platform for Seamless Customer Service!

The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) has introduced a new online account platform aimed at enhancing the customer experience. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernize its systems and increase transparency in billing services.
Key Features of the New Platform
Launched on November 15, the platform includes:
- Account management tools for easy online bill payments.
- The ability to link multiple accounts to one profile for simpler management.
- Access to past billing and the option to sign up for water outage and construction alerts.
- 24/7 access to water use and account information, allowing customers to get answers without waiting for a customer service representative.
Integration with Smart Meters
This new online platform aligns with SWBNO's ongoing project to install smart meters across New Orleans, which use advanced technology to automatically collect water usage data and send it to SWBNO’s billing system. Customers without smart meters can still use the online platform, while those with them can access additional features such as:
- Real-time water usage data.
- Insights into property water use habits.
- Early leak detection and custom budgeting alerts.
The utility expects to have all residential smart meters installed by the end of 2025.
Customer Engagement and Transparency
SWBNO Executive Director Ghassan Korban stated, "This new online platform is a significant step toward restoring trust with our customers. Giving customers real-time access to their water use data helps them understand their consumption and manage their budgets. This transparency ensures our customers' bills are accurate and consistent."
Getting Started with the New Account
Customers must create a new account at myaccount.swbno.org as the new system is not linked to previous profiles. Previous login credentials and payment information were not transferred to ensure customer data security. Here’s how to sign up:
- Visit myaccount.swbno.org.
- Select “Create a Profile.”
- Fill out the form with your account number, last name, service address, and preferred email.
- Choose a new username and password.
- Click submit to access your new account.
Managing Multiple Accounts
Customers can link multiple SWBNO accounts under one profile for easy management, and a tutorial video is available here.
Relationship with Smart Meters
The new smart meters will automatically send water usage information to each customer's account, giving them greater control over their consumption and bills. Customers can sign up for a new account immediately, even while waiting for their smart meter installation. For more information on smart meters, visit SWBNO Projects.
