Public Relations Consultant

TBS Digital Labs is our full-service digital agency and sister to opinion site The Big Smoke. We have a dedicated audience and portfolio of clients who are dominating their industries and giving us the opportunity to represent them digitally. We are looking for a brilliant experienced PR specialist to join our team. The role will be to work on a portfolio of clients across both the B2B and B2C space with securing media coverage, creating content and building out media and PR strategies.

You’ll work alongside our Head of Communications and broader team to lead campaigns, drive impactful storytelling, and build lasting relationships across media, influencers, and clients.. This role is ideal for someone with a sharp editorial instinct, experience with media, and the drive to make a real impact for clients.

What you’ll do:

• PR strategy and execution with Account Managers across a range of client accounts
• Craft compelling media releases, thought leadership content, and media pitches that generate real cut through
• Drive guest outreach and booking for podcast opportunities 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, producers, and podcast hosts
• Identify timely angles and develop earned media strategies across digital, radio, TV and print
• Work closely with clients and our internal team to align PR activity with business goals
• Collaborate on influencer strategies that support integrated campaigns
• Manage campaign reporting, strategy alignment and WIPs
• Provide basic media training to clients

Who you are:

3+ years experience in PR or communications (agency experience preferred)

• Have relationships already in the media space
• A strong writer with the ability to adapt tone for diverse industries and channels
• You thrive on hitting targets, meeting deadlines, and turning ideas into coverage
• You’re hands on and can balance big picture thinking with the day to day detail
• You know how to pitch with impact
• Experience with podcast guest outreach or booking is a strong plus
• Broad understanding of influencer and digital content is a bonus
• Comfortable managing multiple clients, stakeholders and timelines
