Our client is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Remote ICT Technician to deliver high‑quality 1st and 2nd level support to both clients and internal staff. This is a fully remote position, ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and providing exceptional service. You will be responsible for supporting hardware, software, telephony, Microsoft 365 services, Azure, Entra ID, and a range of related technologies. You’ll work closely with Senior Technicians and Directors, with plenty of opportunities for ongoing learning and skills development. You will be required to visit clients onsite in Launceston and Devonport, so it is essential that you have a current driver’s licence and car. You will be reimbursed for travel costs. Must be based in Launceston, Tasmania. What You’ll Do
- Provide telephone and virtual technical support for desktop, hardware, software, and telephony issues.
- Follow established procedures to assist users and help them resolve technical problems.
- Accurately record troubleshooting steps, resolutions, time entries, and all shift activity.
- Install software, perform hardware upgrades, and complete updates in line with service level objectives.
- Escalate issues to Senior Remote ICT Technicians or Network Engineers when required, ensuring detailed diagnostic information is included.
- Maintain clear communication with customers by updating tickets and providing realistic timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams and participate in ongoing training.
- Manage competing priorities while delivering timely, high-quality support.
What You Bring
- 2-3 years of IT support experience, ideally in a MSP or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID Admin (fundamental/intermediate certification level).
- Solid understanding of desktop hardware, standard applications, and custom software.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise issues effectively.
- A strong customer service mindset.
- Relevant tertiary or industry certifications (highly regarded).
