What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

  • Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and complete data entry as needed
  • Review patient account history to understand payments received and amounts due
  • Provide transaction history summaries to patients regarding copay, coinsurance, and deductibles owed
  • Request and obtain payment from patients for balances owed
  • Document all call information to ensure proper call history is recorded

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of college or an Associate's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a healthcare organization
  • Must be customer service oriented and computer literate, with proficiency in Electronic Medical Records and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and effective mathematical and analytical skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently

  • Experience in a healthcare-related customer service role
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and ability to function well under pressure
