We are a fully remote inclusive design firm with 14 staff members seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to help us implement secure and sustainable technologies as we scale. This multifaceted role combines hands-on Linux system administration, company-wide security and IT policy management, and direct team member support across desktop and mobile operating systems.
In this role, you will:
* Be responsible for managing our cloud infrastructure, rolling out Single Sign On (SSO), building Software as a Service (SaaS) organizations, maintaining Linux servers, and supporting a small number of WordPress websites.
* Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity through regular testing and documentation of recovery procedures.
* Provide help desk support to our globally distributed team, and manage user lifecycle processes including onboarding new employees with appropriate system access and offboarding departing staff.
* Manage our cloud storage systems, including S3-compatible providers and Dropbox.
* Ensure our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) environment remains secure and functional across platforms including Google Workspace, GitHub, Dropbox, and Slack.
* Manage our security tools and policies, coordinate security scans, and provide security awareness training to staff.
* Evaluate new tools, and handle license renewals for our software subscriptions and SaaS platforms.
Proactive system monitoring and incident response will also be part of your core responsibilities. You'll be expected to set up monitoring and alerting for server health, uptime, and performance metrics, respond proportionately to issues, and create and maintain comprehensive documentation as we grow.
The ideal candidate will bring three to five years of IT experience with strong Linux administration skills and a genuine curiosity for how systems work. This role requires someone who can balance technical depth with clear communication, moving fluidly between supporting individual staff members with technical issues and collaborating with leadership on new technical initiatives and security policy development.
