The Role & Team
We are looking for a product manager to take ownership of the day-to-day product work on our self-serve platform. Today around 1000 paying customers rely on it.Â
Whatâs the product about? Ocean.io is a B2B prospecting platform that helps sales and marketing teams find their best-fit customers using AI and our widely known lookalike feature, powered by one of the largest proprietary B2B datasets in the world.Â
Ocean.io sits on a dataset that very few products have access to. Every month we crawl 250 million pages. That powers a lookalike engine built on our own NLP and machine learning research. We are not an LLM wrapper, this is technology we built ourselves. And itâs your job to turn that capability into features that solve real customer problems.
You will work closely with our CPO and CTO to turn that underlying capability into product features customers actually understand and find useful.
One of the first areas waiting for attention is our onboarding flow. Hundreds of trials start every month, which makes onboarding a high-impact part of the product and one with plenty of room to improve.
The good part: you will not be guessing. The product already has real usage, real customer feedback and real commercial signals to work with from day one.
You will report directly to the CPO and work day-to-day with a small but very capable team: two frontend engineers, two backend engineers, four ML and data engineers, a UX designer and a QA engineer. You will also collaborate closely with sales and customer success whenever product decisions affect the customer experience.
Like the rest of Ocean, it is a small team where people take ownership of what they build and good ideas move quickly.
What you will own
- Full product ownership of our self-serve platform from roadmap to release
- Prioritisation decisions grounded in customer value and commercial outcomes
- Regular conversations with customers and prospects to surface insights that shape the roadmap
- Close collaboration with sales and marketing on positioning, messaging and product gaps
- Translating ML and data capabilities into clear product value
- Contributing to product thinking across our enterprise API and RevOps products
- Helping define how we position our products for different buyers and market segments
Who you are
We are not looking for a perfect CV. We are looking for the right person. That likely means youâŚ
- have shipped B2B SaaS products and understand what good looks like
- think about revenue and customer outcomes, not just feature delivery
- are comfortable talking to customers and turning insights into product decisions
- have worked in a small team and know how to get things done without heavy process
- can hold the commercial and the technical in your head at the same time
- bring clarity to ambiguous situations rather than waiting for someone else to define the problem
- can translate what a product does into why it matters to the person buying itÂ
Experience with data products, APIs or developer tools is a genuine bonus. Familiarity with sales and marketing outreach processes is also a big plus.
What success looks like after 6 months
- Our onboarding flow has been redesigned and shows measurable improvement in activation and trial conversion
- Product decisions are consistently informed by customer conversations and product data
- You have established a clear prioritisation process grounded in customer value and business impact
- Our ML and data capabilities are being translated into product features customers clearly understand
- You have built strong working relationships across engineering, design, marketing and sales
