We're hiring our Lead Support Software Engineer (expert in Java development) Kestra, the modern orchestration platform, is growing fast — 20,000+ GitHub stars, 1B+ workflows orchestrated yearly, and used by engineers at Toyota, Bloomberg, Xiaomi, Huawei, FILA, and more.
We’re hiring a Senior Support Software Engineer to be our lead in Customer Support and handle the most critical technical issues across our open-source and Enterprise platforms.
This is a role for experienced software engineers — not level-1 support.
🧭 You’ll act as a technical owner on production issues, deep debugging, plugin behavior, orchestration logic, and edge-case failures. You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and real-world usage.
You'll be part of a fast-moving, international team of 15+ talented engineers, collaborating across product, cloud, and solutions.
What you'll do:
🛠️ Analyze and resolve complex Java issues in distributed environments
📦 Troubleshoot plugin and workflow execution across cloud and on-prem installs
🔁 Build internal test platforms and use cases to reproduce and validate issues
📚 Design reusable blueprints and onboarding content for user enablement
🎓 Own and evolve tutorial content, segmented by user personas and orchestration domains
🧠 Collaborate directly with core engineering, product, and support teams
What we're looking for:
- 7+ years in backend or platform engineering, with strong Java expertise
- Solid understanding of multithreading, networking, distributed systems
- Experience debugging live production systems and reproducing edge cases
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills in English
- Comfortable working with users and solving issues across environments
- Habitual focus on testing, automation, and software quality
Our tech stack includes:
- Java (Micronaut), Vue.js + Bootstrap
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch
- Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform
- GCP, AWS, Azure, and GitHub for workflows
You don't need to know everything — we value curiosity, learning, and strong fundamentals.
Bonus points if you have:
- Contributed to open-source projects
- Experience with Kafka, Micronaut, or public cloud platforms
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL systems
- Past exposure to tools like Zendesk, Freshdesk, etc.
