Job description:

About your role

Following a recent retirement, we’re offering a rare opportunity to join IXOM’s industry-leading commercial team as a Key Account Manager – Water & Energy, based in Brisbane.

In this high-impact role, you’ll manage a portfolio of major accounts across the Water and Energy sectors. You’ll be a strategic partner to our customers—driving growth, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional value.

This role suits a proactive, results-driven professional who thrives on building strong relationships and navigating complex contract lifecycles—from negotiation and compliance to renewals and performance optimization. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure outstanding customer experiences and contribute directly to business profitability.

We offer a competitive salary package, company vehicle, performance bonuses, and a flexible working culture that empowers you to work in the way that suits you best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work autonomously and remotely to manage strategic accounts, achieve revenue and gross margin targets, and foster account growth.
  • Drive new business with a hunter mindset—actively identifying and securing high-value opportunities
  • Build influence as a trusted advisor to key customers, stakeholders, and executive sponsors
  • Track and manage KPIs, ensuring customer performance aligns with business goals and proactively resolving issues
  • Lead strategic reviews and deliver insights through regular reporting and performance analysis
  • Complete tender submissions, negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and securing timely renewals to maximise value
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, supply chain, quality, and customer service teams to deliver seamless solutions
  • Stay ahead of the curve by attending industry conferencies,  monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
  • Deliver strong, profitable growth within your segment, contributing directly to IXOM’s commercial success

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in a sales role within the water industry, with a track record of working independently and achieving results.
  • Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the organization.
  • Commercial acumen and experience managing the full business development cycle, including contract management and municipal water tender bids.
  • Background in water treatment (strongly preferred), with exposure to industrial, mining, or energy sectors
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, or a related field

Benefits at IXOM

For a start, you'll work for a large global organisation, where you'll not only earn a competitive salary company vehicle, bonuses, and flexible working arrangements., but you'll also have access to an Employee Assistance Program, a recognition program, and a range of health and wellness benefits and discounts.

Our wellbeing program is second to none, and we offer a range of education assistance and learning resources, as well as secondment and promotion opportunities to help you grow both personally and professionally.
