About the Company
Denis Oakley & Co delivers innovation accelerator programmes in engineering, technology and academic sectors. We’re a small, high-impact consultancy helping teams innovate through intensive, customer discovery-based programs. We typically run programmes involving 100–200 teams (600+ individuals), so strong coordination and admin support are critical. Our founder, Denis Oakley (20+ years in entrepreneurship, teaches innovation at Warwick), leads delivery - with programme management support and a team of mentors. We’re looking for someone to become the reliable backbone of our operations - keeping us structured, visible, and moving forward.
About the Role
- Hours: ~10 hours/week
- Rate: £17–£20/hour (freelance/self-employed)
- Location: Remote (UK-based only - Midlands-based is a bonus)
You’ll provide a blend of executive assistance, project coordination, and content support - playing a critical role in helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes.
We're looking for someone who wants a part-time role but there is potential for the role to become full-time with further growth in the company.
ResponsibilitiesExecutive & PA Support
- Keep Denis organised and on track with clear weekly structure and scheduling support
- Help develop and maintain routines to support neurodivergence
Programme admin and coordination
- Be the admin backbone of our innovation programmes under the guidance of our programme manager
- Use Monday.com to track tasks, team progress, and internal workflows
- Help manage team communications, and programme logistics
Marketing & content support
- Take Denis’s raw content (written, voice notes, video clips) and help polish it
- Post regularly on LinkedIn, YouTube, and Vimeo
- Maintain a consistent publishing schedule and help repurpose content
Event support
- Coordinate and support online sessions and event logistics
- Handle comms, materials prep, and post-event follow-up
Qualifications
- UK-based (essential)
- Highly organised and able to create structure and momentum in a remote team
- Confident using: Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and a range of other platforms (eg Calendly, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo)
- Open to learning and flexible to switch between tasks (and platforms!) as needed
- Excellent written English and communication skills
- Able to work independently and take initiative
Desirable Skills
- Based in the Midlands (we meet regularly south of Birmingham)
- Strong PowerPoint or Google Slides skills
- Light video editing or Canva experience
- Familiar with startups, innovation, or consulting
Pay range and compensation package
Rate: £17–£20/hour (freelance/self-employed)
