We're partnering with a highly respected UK technology services provider with a long-established reputation for delivering complex infrastructure, cloud, and digital transformation projects across enterprise and public sector customers. The organisation combines deep technical expertise with a consultative approach and is investing heavily in the growth of its Azure practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping cloud strategy, influencing solution design, and helping build a growing Azure capability.

The Role

As an Azure Solutions Architect, you'll act as the Azure subject matter expert throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, owning solution design from both a technical and commercial perspective. You'll work closely with sales teams, technical architects, and customers to create compelling Azure solutions that solve real business challenges.

This is primarily a pre-sales role (approximately 80%), with the opportunity to contribute to the growth and direction of the wider Azure practice (20%).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and commercial ownership of Azure pre-sales opportunities
• Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure solutions
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers and stakeholders
• Collaborate with architects and technical SMEs to validate solution designs
• Produce high-quality solution documentation and proposals
• Present technical solutions to both executive and technical audiences
• Support bid responses and customer workshops
• Provide peer reviews and mentoring within the Azure practice
• Contribute to service development and practice growth initiatives

What We're Looking ForEssential Experience

• Proven experience designing Azure cloud solutions in a Solution Architect capacity
• Strong background in Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS architectures
• Experience working within pre-sales, consultancy, or customer-facing architecture roles
• Ability to engage confidently with C-level stakeholders and technical teams
• Experience designing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, governance, and migration strategies
• Experience migrating and modernising workloads from on-premises to Azure
• Commercial awareness and experience building Azure-based business cases and proposals
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

Technical Skills

• Azure certifications (AZ-305 or equivalent experience)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep)
• Automation and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• PowerShell scripting
• Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
• Azure migration and hybrid-cloud architectures
• Security best practices and cloud governance frameworks
• Strong understanding of the broader public cloud ecosystem
