Job Description

Posted on: August 1, 2025

About Us

We are a change management consultancy with our own suite of SaaS tools designed to help global organisations navigate and manage complex transformations. As a small, agile team, we value adaptability, hands-on learning, and practical problem-solving.

Our software tools are built using modern web technologies and microservices architecture, and we’re constantly evolving them based on real-world business needs. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to work across development, support, and operations in a close-knit environment where your contributions matter.

The Role

We’re looking for a Junior Developer & Technical Support Engineer to join our development team. This is an entry-level, hybrid role for someone with a technical foundation who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and grow quickly.

You’ll support our core SaaS platform by helping to build APIs, maintain systems, and resolve support issues. You’ll also assist with system setups, CMS tasks and testing. Working closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver reliable software and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining REST APIs and backend microservices (primarily using Spring Boot and Node.js).
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases (MS SQL, MongoDB).
  • Investigate and resolve technical support issues raised via internal tools or customer platforms.
  • Help test new features and bug fixes, report issues, and verify solutions.
  • Keep documentation up to date using Swagger/OpenAPI standards.
  • Support CMS setup and updates (training provided).
  • Participate in regular team meetings and code reviews.
  • Follow Git-based workflows and coding best practices.

What We're Looking For

We’re realistic, so don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. If you have a solid base and can show you're eager to learn, we want to hear from you.

Must-Have:

  • Some hands-on experience with:
  • Java (Spring Boot) OR Node.js
  • Relational databases (e.g., MS SQL)
  • REST APIs
  • Git version control
  • Familiarity with basic command-line tools and scripting
  • Willingness to work across both development and support tasks
  • Strong communication skills and self-motivation
  • Based in the UK and able to attend occasional team meetings (near Gatwick)

Nice-to-Have (Training Provided):

  • MongoDB
  • CMS systems (e.g., Directus, Strapi)
  • Docker and AWS basics
  • Swagger/OpenAPI documentation
  • Jira, Zendesk or similar ticketing/support platforms
  • Familiarity with security/auth concepts like OpenId Connect or Keycloak
  • Frontend basics (React, Thymeleaf, etc.)

What You’ll Get

  • £25k to £30k annual salary (depending on experience)
  • Workplace pension
  • Fully remote role
  • Exposure to a broad tech stack and real SaaS product development
