About The Role We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Technical Support Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. This is a home-based position designed for professionals with hands-on experience in solar energy systems and a passion for renewable technology. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing technical assistance to customers, installers, and service partners across the UK, ensuring smooth installation, operation, and maintenance of solar PV systems. The role offers a unique opportunity to work within a growing international company, contributing to the deployment of sustainable energy solutions while enjoying the flexibility of remote working. Occasional travel within Europe may be required to support customer events, training sessions, or technical visits, providing a varied and engaging work environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Power, or Electronic Engineering or a related field. A minimum of two years' experience working within the solar or renewable energy sector is essential, with a strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, and electrical components. Knowledge of UK regulations and product certification standards is highly desirable, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a commercial mindset, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in additional European languages will be considered an advantage. The role also requires a self-motivated, organized individual comfortable working independently and willing to travel occasionally across Europe. Responsibilities The successful candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities to support the technical and operational aspects of solar energy projects. These include providing expert technical advice and troubleshooting support to customers, installers, and service partners via phone, email, and CRM systems. You will assist customers during the installation, commissioning, and operational phases of solar PV systems, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting faults using monitoring platforms. Collaborating closely with sales and aftersales teams, you will help deliver an exceptional customer experience, maintaining accurate service records and escalating complex issues when necessary. Ensuring compliance with UK and European regulations and product standards will be a key part of your role, alongside occasional travel to support events and customer needs across Europe.
