Job Description

About The Company Parloa GmbH is dedicated to revolutionizing customer interactions through innovative AI-driven solutions. Our mission is to make every customer conversation effortless and meaningful for both clients and the companies they serve. As agentic AI continues to evolve, Parloa is at the forefront of shaping a new era in customer experience, transforming support from mere transactions into valuable exchanges. With a proven track record, Parloa has powered over one billion interactions between global enterprise brands and their customers. Our clients include industry leaders such as HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, Barmenia Gothaer, and TUI, all of whom deploy our solutions at scale to enhance their customer engagement strategies. About The Role As a Lead Data Engineer - Internal Platform at Parloa GmbH, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that underpins our internal AI transformation initiatives. Currently, critical business data resides across numerous disconnected tools without a unified access point. Your primary responsibility will be to develop a comprehensive, self-service data access layer that provides AI agents and internal teams with the business context necessary for effective operation. You will collaborate closely with the AI Transformation Team and various stakeholders across non-engineering departments to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards that enable leadership to monitor AI adoption, usage, and impact. Your work will directly influence how data-driven decisions are made and how AI solutions are integrated into our business processes, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal AI initiatives. Qualifications

  • Extensive experience designing and implementing data layers that support AI and large language model (LLM) applications and agentic workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and MLOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and modern data warehouse technologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize data pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
  • Passion for innovation in data engineering, staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Experience in defining and measuring AI adoption KPIs, including usage metrics, proficiency levels, and business impact assessments.
  • Knowledge of how AI tools consume data, including context windows, retrieval patterns, and embedding pipelines, with a focus on optimizing data access.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the internal data platform infrastructure, including configuration, compute resources, access controls, and cost optimization within the Databricks environment.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated data ingestion pipelines using tools like Airbyte, pulling data from sources such as Salesforce, Gong, HRIS, finance systems, and others.
  • Implement data architecture that transforms raw data into clean, reliable, and analysis-ready datasets, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the AI Transformation Team to ensure AI agents and workflows receive the appropriate data in the correct format for optimal performance.
  • Define and develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor AI adoption, proficiency, and business impact, providing insights to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, including data classification, access controls, GDPR/DPA compliance, and ongoing pipeline monitoring for security and compliance.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation within the data infrastructure to support scalable AI initiatives.

Benefits At Parloa GmbH, we offer a dynamic and innovative work environment that fosters professional growth and development. Employees benefit from competitive compensation packages, comprehensive health insurance, and flexible work arrangements that promote work-life balance. We support continuous learning through training programs, workshops, and opportunities to attend industry conferences. Additionally, we provide a range of wellness programs and employee engagement activities designed to promote a healthy and inclusive workplace. Joining Parloa means being part of a forward-thinking company committed to technological innovation and excellence in customer experience.
