Your Role

This isn’t just another accounting role.

You’ll start by working directly with a Co-Founder, learning how we deliver high-quality accounting and advisory services. From there, you’ll grow into leading your own pod - managing a portfolio of clients, mentoring Associates and owning outcomes.

How We Work

In our model, Associates (Junior Accountants) lead day-to-day client relationships and execution. Your role as the Advisor is to ensure the work delivered to clients by your team of Associates is insightful, complete and high-quality - while coaching and supporting the team behind it. 

You’ll step in for complex situations, but Associates lead the day-to-day.

What This Role Looks Like

Phase 1: Learn + Execute

  • Own core accounting work processes (month-end close, payroll, AP, etc)
  • Learn The Accounted Way systems and standards
  • Begin building client relationships

Phase 2: Review + Coach

  • Work with an Associate 
  • Review work and provide feedback
  • Manage timelines and deliverables across clients

Phase 3: Build + Lead

  • Lead a pod of 1-2 Associates
  • Manage client relationships end-to-end, with Associate still handling the day to day
  • Participate in hiring and developing your team
  • Operate independently with leadership support

Financial Strategy & Advisory

  • Deliver insights that help clients make better decisions
  • Build budgets, forecasts and KPI reporting tools
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities

Quality & Accuracy

  • Ensure all client deliverables contain relevant and useful information while being delivered on time
  • Review work and maintain high accounting standards
  • Handle complex accounting when needed

Team Development

  • Coach and mentor Associates
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback
  • Help others grow in confidence and skill

What You Bring

Must-Haves:

  • 4-6+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Complete mastery of Quickbooks Online
  • Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting
  • Experience reviewing work and mentoring others
  • Comfortable working directly with clients

Bonus:

  • Experience in a virtual accounting firm
  • Familiarity with tools like Gusto, Bill.com, Melio, Karbon, FactorApp
