You can grab a bag and fill it with food for delivery to those less fortunate.

The club is also collecting unwrapped toys for children up to age twelve. Cash donations are welcome too; make checks payable to Three Rivers Lions Club, attention "Christmas Food Baskets," and mail to P.O. Box 134, Three Rivers, Michigan 49093.

Don't forget to celebrate Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11, marking the armistice that ended World War I in 1918. A brief ceremony will be held at the American Legion, 59990 South Main Street in Three Rivers, at 11 AM, and the public is invited to attend.

A Spotlight on Exceptional Customer Service

Customer service isn't extinct—it's just harder to find these days. On a recent trip to the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, a stop at the Bob Evans restaurant on Beckley Road led to a delightful encounter with a waitress named Comfort. Having met her a couple of years prior, the hope was to experience her warm service again, and luckily, she was there, greeting with a huge hug.

Comfort was incredibly attentive, ensuring coffee cups were always full and plates were promptly cleared, making patrons feel like the only ones in the restaurant. A card of thanks will be sent to the manager to acknowledge her outstanding service. If you're in the Battle Creek area near Beckley Road, consider visiting Bob Evans to enjoy excellent customer service from Comfort—tell her Norm and Mary Ann send their hugs and best wishes.
